Every shot is the final act of a long and complex work that, starting from an idea, becomes art project, which materializes through the setting up and manual staging of a scene where the attention to detail is the style distinctive characteristic: lights, costumes, people, objects are instruments carefully used for a final result that only involves minimal photo editing interventions.
"My interest in photography is concentrated in the sphere of portraiture. I use faces and bodies, costumes and caricatures to express a new and personal vision of the modern human being, focussing on the issue of loss of one's personality and on the quest for it.
The portrayed subjects are thus reintroduced as objects and the protagonist faces no longer reflect themselves but the feeling of a far-off time, with Renaissance splendour. The dismay, the crisis of identity and awareness of the need to react have been the theme of my work over the last years, which I intend to deepen today".
